Demonstration painting of watercolor washes to create landscapes.
A few things that Tanya worked on this week…This is a watercolor demonstration from her Wednesday class. The topic was watercolor washes and color mixing to creat land and sky.She also hosted book club where they discussed the nature of hapiness, worked of Mary Washington, finished Washington’s Women at Kenmore and did a commission for a local home.509 Caroline Street Commission, June 2011.

Inspired by a commission from the Virginia Deli to do an outdoor panel Tanya is proud to present a small series of paintings featuring the historic women of George Washington.

Keeping in the spirit of the Virginia Deli and the rich history of downtown Fredericskburg Tanya envisioned a mural that would welcome visitors entering town across the William Street Bridge and was further inspired by Tanya’s granddaughter whose favorite Deli sandwich is the Mary Washington but research revealed that there are very few visual representations of Mary Washington or any of the women in George Washington’s life.
…and so began Tanya’s current series featuring historic women in and around Fredericksburg.

The Fredericksburg car show happens every June and it is a wonderful time downtown with Caroline Street blocked off and great folls showing thier antique cars. Thankfully the show is this weekend and not last weekend when it was 100 degrees outside!

Featuring new renderings inspired by Alice in Wonderland Jr.
Over 40 wonderful characters are represented in Tanya’s Alice Collection which opens tonight.
Silent Auction- original watercolor paintings signed by the cast will begin today and run through May. A portion of the proceeds with benefit Stage Door Productions so that Kids on Stage can continue to produce great plays.
