Tanya Richey has an original approach to teaching painting.

In her classes you will accomplish an entire painting every session and she takes a “bring what you have” approach to supplies.

Currently a youth class meets on Wednesday afternoons and a Sunday Adult class is forming.

Watercolor and acrylic are Tanya’s most popular classes but she works in everything except oils.  Technique, color theory, art history, composition, sketching, studio work, plaine air painting are all available.

Too often painting classes and art lessons are intimidating and require an expensive investment at the start.  Tanya believes that painting should be a joy and that supply lists at the begining of a course is often wasted and futile.  If you have paints, paper, brushes… bring them.  If you don’t come to class and borrow supplies the first lesson or two then you will know what you need instead of having a set of wrongsupplies.  Painting is process…  Art is a creative endeavor… allthough there are some basics Tanya believes that the particulars are secondary to the experience to come as you are!
