Acrylic on canvas 24″ x 36″ (1,400.00)
A dog, a swing and forsythia
Daffodills, dogwoods and redbuds
The sun shinning above the blue ridge
Tis spring in Virginia
This is a romantic painting started with white and the primary colors stroked and blended for a light background . First begin with the sky, add clouds and begin a sunset. Close your eyes and envision mountains and valleys and trees, then proceed to build a place in time with shadows and dappled light . There is a time for sketches and thumbnails of values, working out compositions, etc. Sometimes we need to just paint and dream.
When I think of spring in Virginia, I think of redbuds, dogwoods, daffodills and dappled sunlight.
Painting notes: this is a close up of hound and rocks from Home Place.
Sunsets on the island of Oahu are different from the glorious ones in Arizona.
The sun slips down below a cloud
and gets caught between the cloud and the horizon
That’s where I fell I am today.
Painting notes: This acrylic on canvas 18″ x 24″ ($850).
This painting was painted from memory with no sketch or thought out composition, just an idea. Try this. Assemble supplies and plause, think of a memory and begin painting.
This painting is currently in the March Gallery 915 Show.

The Gallery at 915 had a great First Friday on March 6th. Here is a little clip of a promo that I am working on for the Gallery.
After the petals fall we need to rest
Yesterday I was bereft of purpose
Today I am ready to seek myself again
