Fredericksburg

Tru Luv's

You can have a great meal and view my art at Tru Luv’s on the water at 1101 Sophia Street in old town Fredericksburg.

This week I will be hanging a new painting in the main dinning room.  It is of Fredericksburg from the Chatham side.

My favorite meal  this week  – the crab cakes.  They are so lightly browned and all crab with a delicate bernaise sauce.  Beautiful wild rice with bits of cranberry and green beans which are tender and filled with summer flavor.  The Jefferson Chardonnay is the perfect  wine with this meal.   To paint, to dine, to drink what more could one want?

Friends to enjoy it with.   Watch for my next demonstration date at Tru Luv’s.

Clouds over Old Rag

Jefferson's Vision

I have read that when Thomas Jefferson returned to Monticello he was broke and in debt.  When several friends talked to him about the seriousness of this matter his answer was to order more flower bulbs for the garden and more wine.  Jefferson brought vines back from France to start vineyards in Virginia, now there are many vineyards in Virginia and a few good wines.

Acrylic  24″ x 36″  on canvas    (1,400.00)

I painted the sky, Old Rag, road, hills and valleys from a sketch I did on the side of the road off Rt. 522.  This was then set aside.  Later, thinking of the vineyards at Sharp Rock Farm but not having a sketch I painted the vines creeping along the hills.  This is a combination of observation and vision.
